What is an Aura?

“An electromagnetic energy field, called an aura, surrounded every living organism. This energy field vibrates at different frequencies, reflecting colours that denote your state of mind, body and inner being. Your aura colours are determined by physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual states of being. Without energy, we would not exist. The human aura is an energy occurrence within a highly complex system. The aura is the external representation of a creative life force that energizes and sustains our existence. As a functional energy form that envelops the physical body, the aura provides a channel for interacting with other energy sources and dimensions, including other human aura systems. “

What is the difference between an Aura and a Chakra?

Physical bodies contain cells that are always vibrating and emitting energy. Surrounding that is another body of energy that is lighter and finer and vibrates at an even greater rate. That lighter, finer body would be your Aura. An Aura is a field of energy or light that surrounds each physical body on our planet.

Similar to an Aura, a Chakra, derived from Sanskrit language translates to “spinning vortex of energy”. There are 7 main chakras, each connecting to a major body organ and along your spine. Your Chakra contains your body’s power and as such, is in charge of sending energy throughout your body.

Both contain specific spiritual colours. Aura colours can change based on your mood, while chakra colours remain constant and unchanged. Auras are external while Chakras are contained within the body.

What is Energy Healing?

Everything in the entire universe is made up of matter, energy to be more precise. Anyone’s Aura, Chakra or other energy system can become blocked or clogged. Magnetic connections can become broken or distorted. Because your Aura is essentially an electromagnetic energy field, you can be healed by energy transfer, or through energy healing. It works by tapping into your own body’s frequencies to basically help you restore your own energy flow.

There are several types: Reiki, the placement of palms on your body to redistribute energy; Reflexology: the stimulation of specific pressure points, usually on the feet, but also on the hands, face or ears to help positively affect other parts of the body; Tapping: also known as Emotional Freedom Technique, this is where you can gently self-tap on various acupressure points on the body to send signals to the brain to calm down and reset itself; and Reconnective healing: where a specialist uses their hands above your body to make your body more receptive to different types of frequencies and allow for the body’s natural intelligence to kick in.

Why is it Important to Have a Strong Connection with One’s Self?

Your higher self is just as much a part of you as your physical body is – yet so many of us neglect it in lieu of only taking care of the physical self. Your higher self allows you to express creativity as well as guides you with insight and intuition. Those who are not connected with their inner self are more close-minded and oftentimes ignore their gut feelings or intuition and rely on logic alone. Having a strong relationship with your inner self helps you become more in tune with your entire being, which will in turn, benefit both your physical, mental and emotional well-being.
